The University of Technology Sydney and Vietnam National University (VNU) have developed a multi-faceted, dynamic and truly collaborative partnership, culminating in the establishment of a joint research centre through VNU University of Engineering and Technology. VNU proposed a purpose-built facility at Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, and has allocated space in their Hanoi campus until construction at Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park is complete.
The Joint Technology and Innovation Research Centre (JTIRC) between UTS and VNU is the first of its kind between Australia and Vietnam. The research centre aims to foster excellence in research collaboration and technology transfer through PhD training, expert exchange programs and industry engagement.
Vietnam National University
Vietnam National University (VNU) is the largest comprehensive higher education and research centre in Vietnam. It was established to become a leading interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research university to contribute significantly to Vietnam’s industrialisation and modernisation. VNU comprises several member Universities and Schools under its ‘umbrella’ structure, including the VNU University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET).

VNU-UET is a national key university in Vietnam, which focuses its research and education on four advanced areas of science technology:

Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park
Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park is the first and largest hi-tech park in Vietnam, and one of only three national-level high-tech parks. It was created with the intention to become Vietnam’s leading high-tech industry cluster for manufacturing, research and development, and innovation. The park is located close to several education and training institutions, which enhances its research and development capabilities and provides it with access to skilled labour.
